This Privacy Policy describes how Wemoda Solutions Pvt. Ltd. ("Wemoda," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use the Conceptra mobile application, related websites (including this page), and school or admin tools (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who this policy applies to
The Service is designed for learners (including school students), parents or guardians, teachers, and authorised school administrators in India. If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must create or approve the account and provide consent as described below.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account data: mobile phone number, name, email (if provided), role (student, parent, teacher, institution), and profile details such as board, class, and subjects.
- Parent–child linking: information needed to connect a parent account to a student profile.
- Learning activity: quiz answers, scores, mastery progress, worksheets, doubts submitted, streaks, badges, and similar educational records.
- User content: text or images you submit (e.g. worksheet scans, doubt questions) for learning features.
- Support communications: messages you send to our support team.
- Consent records: version and categories of privacy/terms consent you accept (including parental consent where required).
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and app data: device type, operating system, app version, language, and general technical logs needed for security and troubleshooting.
- Push notification token: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token if you enable notifications.
- Usage data: feature usage and performance events to improve reliability and learning experience (not sold for third-party advertising).
2.3 Payment information
Subscriptions and payments are processed by Razorpay (and, where applicable, Google Play or Apple App Store). We receive transaction identifiers, plan status, and billing metadata — not your full card or UPI credentials. Payment providers process data under their own privacy policies.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- create and manage accounts and authenticate users (including OTP, Google Sign-In, and Sign in with Apple);
- deliver curriculum-aligned questions, AI-assisted learning features, progress tracking, and gamification;
- process subscriptions and provide customer support;
- send service-related push notifications and important account messages (you can disable push in device settings);
- maintain security, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms;
- comply with law and respond to lawful requests;
- improve the Service through analytics and testing in aggregated or de-identified form where possible.
4. AI processing
Some features use third-party AI services (such as OpenAI) to generate or explain educational content based on prompts derived from your inputs and learning context. We send only what is necessary for the feature. Do not submit sensitive personal data unrelated to learning. AI outputs may be inaccurate; they are for educational assistance only.
5. Children, parents, and consent (India DPDPA)
Conceptra may be used by children under parental or school supervision. Where required under applicable law (including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), we rely on verifiable parental or guardian consent before processing a child's personal data for the Service. Parents can review linked child activity, manage profiles, and withdraw consent in the app or by contacting us.
Withdrawing consent initiates account and data deletion as described in our systems (typically within 72 hours after withdrawal, subject to legal retention needs).
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service providers under contract: cloud hosting (e.g. Google Cloud), database (e.g. Supabase), authentication and OTP (Firebase, MSG91), payments (Razorpay), push delivery (Firebase), AI (OpenAI), and caching (Redis/Upstash) — only as needed to operate the Service.
- Schools or institutions you register with, for roster and progress features you authorise.
- Legal and safety when required by law, court order, or to protect users and our rights.
- Business transfers in connection with a merger or acquisition, with notice where required.
7. Data retention
We retain personal data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. When you delete your account or withdraw consent, we delete or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period (generally within 72 hours for consent withdrawal flows), except where backup or legal retention requires limited storage for a defined period.
8. Security
We use technical and organisational measures such as encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong device lock and keep your OTP private.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on applicable law, you may:
- Access or export your data (in-app account tools or
/export-dataAPI where enabled); - Correct inaccurate profile information in the app;
- Delete your account in the app or by emailing info@wemoda.in;
- Withdraw consent for processing (see in-app consent settings);
- Opt out of marketing (we send primarily service messages); disable push notifications in OS settings.
We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable time as required by law.
10. International processing
Data may be processed in India and, where our providers operate globally (e.g. United States for certain cloud or AI services), in other countries with appropriate safeguards as permitted by law.
11. Third-party links
The Service may link to third-party sites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the new version with an updated date and, where required, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
